Tap Into What Really Matters – Let The B.S. Go!

The Commitment: Why focus on things that don’t and won’t really matter? 1. Stop compromising a best-life! 2. Concentrate on a bright future. About to go to the dark side? 3. Be your fearless leader! Reset in the moment. Master living in the present! How? Simplify, declutter and let go of anything that will complicate or compromise the day! Refuse to make life anything less than the best it can be. Don’t be your own worst enemy…instead share some self-love!

“Deciding what NOT to do is as important as deciding WHAT to do.” ~Charles Spurgeon

Ask yourself what really matters? Will it matter in a few hours, a day, or on your deathbed.

Charles Spurgeon continues to inspire: “It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy that makes happiness.” Identify and avoid triggers that divert from a positive path to a best life.

Mayday, Mayday: I began to think more about this when a friend lost her daughter to a mountain climbing accident. Before beating yourself up, ruining another day, getting sucked into the irrational, stop and think about what’s important and customize it your way!

Make a commitment: Do things that matter to you and will enhance the future. Make plans with loved ones, follow through on aspirations and anything that’s personally meaningful. Yes, live today with intention…be present!

The Question is: Why would we want anything less than a best life filled with joy and love? Eliminate saying I’ll do it later. Prioritize! Why allow worry or potential fear to consume the mind and focus on what’s unimportant. A well-lived life must include priorities.

If you struggle with this now and again or more than not this pep talk may just inspire you to think a little differently!

A quote that’s the essence of this blogpost: “Identify the essential and eliminate the rest.” ~Leo Babauta

It’s all about our Daily Decisions. Why dim our most glorious assets from sparkling and shining. Ask: Is it necessary to live in overwhelm, unhappy or limited and have regrets later?

Think about this: Balance in all aspects of life is important..not always easy or doable but…putting emphasis on balance brings us closer to inner peace.

When thinking of decluttering the first thing that comes to mind usually is clearing out our home and workspace…throwing away old stuff. But …in order to balance and do things that make us happy, our minds (thoughts) and people in our lives need to sync too. We owe it to ourselves to make life the best it can be.

When we focus with intention on the things that truly matter we teach ourselves to let go of what isn’t. Commitment Time: - The quotes I share illustrate my thoughts!

#1: Create your priorities -organize to unleash satisfaction and inner peace: Think about Mark Twain’s quote: “To change your life, you need to change your priorities.” In essence make yourself a priority!

#2: Continuously ask: Will this person, thing, situation or adventure enhance your life? If not purge it! Choose to spend time with those you love, with yourself, be present in whatever you do and whomever you’re with. Accomplish what’s important to you. This quote by Myles Munroe sets the record straight: Our life is the sum total of all the decisions we make every day, and those decisions are determined by our priorities.

#3 : Take that breath and slow down! It’s a mind game…sync body, mind and spirit - jibe and thrive. We get riled up when we rush…aha…think before reacting. A quote of truth:If it costs you peace it’s too expensive.” I find when we allow ourselves to align with our goals the universe aligns with us too.

#4: Streamline life! Learn to say NO. (and goodbye to maybe). Limit or end communication with those that take the wind out of our sails. My personal action item: I make a list of my fears and why living my best life is more important than each fear.”

#5 Simplify by decluttering…intentional with focus. Honestly address time commitments, goals, what and whom we surround ourselves with. Purge what isn’t needed, people-wise, time-wise, edit thoughts, make them positive. A quote of reason: ”Obstacles are what you see when you take your eye off your goal.” ~anonymous

Here are some simple quick ideas / strategies to help focus on priorities and keep what’s most important at the forefront of the mind, each day, week and year!

Be deliberate and intentional…quality not quantity.

#1: Evaluate: Make 2 columns…enhancements and detractors. The first column: People that enhance or can add value to your life. The second column, the detractors preventing a best life. Thinking about what they are, writing them down, facing them in black and white with intention clears the way. “If it doesn’t add to your life, it doesn’t belong in your life.” ~anonymous

#2: Establish routines to avoid overwhelm…set a quick morning and evening routine to stay on track. “The happiest people don’t have the best of everything, they just make the best of what they have.” ~anonymous

#3: Plan ahead, for example…make a to-declutter list before bed or early in the morning. Remain open and flexible…control what you can and let go of what you can’t!“Organize your life around your dreams and watch them come true.” ~anonymous Yes! Action conquers our fears! Dream big, then go for it!

#4: Make time in the day for simple pleasures: Oust the things that make you unhappy! How? Clear the mind and clean up anything blocking a wonderful life! Think about this quote: “Things which matter most must never be at the mercy of things which matter least..” ~Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe We have to be fiscally responsible…but we also owe it to ourselves to enjoy life, work, home and those we surround ourselves with.

We can’t please everybody ..so make it a mandate to please yourself. Never feel guilty for doing what’s best for you! Run your life…don’t allow it to be run by anything or anyone except you!
