Hello, Hello It’s Deborah of The Daily Decisions – Your Ray of Sunshine…with my on-going series… make life easier & live happier.
Todays’ Topic: How to start a day on a positive note: 3 simple things to think about and the visuals to look at while sipping coffee (or having breakfast) to set the day up right. Distract from anxiety and stress and stimulate positive feelings. So..let’s go to our happy place.
The visuals are to be created beforehand. Make 1 or all 3 and rotate them.
– Make them alone, or with friends to uplift each other.
– Each are low or no cost as basic or fancy as you like. No stress!
– Did you know? Being creative stimulates a happier feeling.
1. Recall an uplifting experience.
The visual: Make a gratitude collage It’s a way to capture the good in your life and thoughts of gratitude.
Use photos from happy times – things you cherish – cut words and pictures from magazines, places you want to travel, encouraging visuals and words and collage them together. Or just…Collage together positive sayings and words to look at and boost your day. Frame it or not.
2. Close your mind to negative thoughts and activate a positive mindset: We control our thoughts.
The visual: . Make a positive energy jar: Take a Jar (decorate it or not) – (…or even a mug with a positive saying): (I show a visual)
On slips of paper (I used colorful post-it notes folded) write positive affirmations, mantras, thoughts of gratitude / future wishes. Add more anytime! Read a few each morning to create positive energy for the day ahead.
3. What we focus on impacts the day either positively or negatively:
Stir up positive energy – smile…smiling is proven to uplift…and it’s gifting happiness both inward and outward.
The visual: Make "A Things That Make Me Smile Box": It can be a wood box like I used, a simple paper box or a gift box (decorate or not). (I show a visual.) On slips of paper write down things that make you smile, quotes that lift you up and inspire you to go after your best- life – read each morning to put a smile on your face – Yes You Can!
Now that you have things to think about and the visuals to look at and read – focusing on these just a few minutes each morning will help start the day on a more positive note. Thanks for joining me!
